LightScribe allows users to create labels on the computer and then burn them onto a compatible LightScribe CD or DVD. LG, a popular electronics manufacturer, produces a line of Light Scribe CD and DVD burners. In order to use your LG LightScribe you must download and install the LightScribe System Software which acts as a driver for your LightScribe hardware. Once you have the software, you can burn an image on a disc with any LightScribe labeling application.
1.Open your browser and visit the LightScribe.com downloads Web page. Click on your operating system from the list of available operating systems.
2.Click the 'LightScribe System Software (LSS)' link from the list of available downloads. Click the 'Download Now' link and save the file to your computer, in a location where you can easily find it such as your desktop.
3.Double-click the downloaded file on your computer to start the installation.
4.Click 'Next' and then choose 'I accept the terms in the license agreement.' Click 'Next' again.
5.Click 'Install' to install the software. A progress bar will appear. Click 'Finish' once complete. Benq downloads.
6.Open your LG LightScribe disc drive and insert a LightScribe disc with the label side of the disc facing down. The LG LightScribe burner creates an image on the top side of the disc with the laser.

7.Launch your computer's LightScribe labeling software. Popular software includes LightScribe labeling software, Nero, Roxio or Lacie.
8.Create a disc image using the options in the chosen software. Most software programs allow you to add effects such as text or borders and import images.

9.Select the option to burn the image onto the disc, once finished creating the label. Remove the finished disc from the LG LightScribe disc drive.

I use this driver with the Lacie D2 Firewire burner and 'DiscLabel 6.x' software (search here on Versiontracker for it) and works great. Very nice labels, but takes some time to burn however.
